Don Vinci - Vice President Gas Distribution Business
Don Vinci is Entergy’s vice president of the gas distribution business where he ensures the safe and reliable gas service to more than 190,000 customers in Baton Rouge and New Orleans.
Prior to this role, he was vice president, Business Development, responsible for business development and growth strategies for Entergy Nuclear.
Vinci has advanced through a variety of key leadership positions during his 25 years at Entergy. He served as general manager, Fleet Operations and Support, and was responsible for fleet governance, oversight and support in the areas of plant operations, maintenance, radiation protection, chemistry, industrial safety, environmental protection, and radioactive waste for Entergy’s nuclear fleet. In addition, he spent two years as the general manager, Plant Operations for Entergy’s River Bend nuclear power station. He was appointed to his current role in June 2010.
Vinci also served three years as Entergy Corporation’s vice president of Risk Management Services and general auditor. In this role he was responsible for the internal audit and property and casualty risk management functions for Entergy between 2002 and 2005.
Vinci served on active duty for more than six years as a submarine officer in the U.S. Navy. He retired as a captain from the Naval Reserves in 2003.
Vinci received his bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering and a master’s degree in business administration, both from Tulane University. He is a licensed professional engineer and was a licensed senior reactor operator at the Waterford 3 nuclear station.
He is a New Orleans native and is married to his wife, Nancy and has two daughters, Christine and Kimberly.
