Murphy A. “Andy” Dreher III - Vice President, Governmental Affairs
Murphy A. “Andy” Dreher III is vice president of governmental affairs for
Entergy Louisiana, LLC and Entergy Gulf States Louisiana, L.L.C., a position
he has held since 1998. Based in Baton Rouge, he is responsible for
legislative and political affairs affecting Entergy in the Louisiana
jurisdiction.
Dreher has over 25 years of utility experience with Entergy Corporation and
Gulf States Utilities. He started his career in public affairs in 1979 at the
River Bend nuclear plant in St. Francisville, La. While there he was
responsible for public relations, community affairs, and media inquiries and
for communications with elected officials regarding legislation dealing with
the nuclear industry.
In 1988 he was promoted to director of governmental affairs for Gulf States
Utilities. He was responsible for lobbying activities at the Louisiana
legislature.
Dreher earned a bachelor of science degree in history/political science from
Northwestern State University as well as a master’s degree in
psychology/counseling.
