Teamwork Louisiana promotes coordinated efforts by business, government and civic leaders to work together to develop Louisiana's economy.

For more than half a century, Entergy operating companies have provided leadership and financial support for Louisiana economic and community development programs. Through the decades, Entergy's efforts have kept pace with the changing needs and character of Louisiana communities and the state as a whole. Teamwork Louisiana, which began in 1992, is the most comprehensive and united effort in the company's long history of economic and community development. Teamwork Louisiana expands the best efforts and proud traditions established by Entergy Gulf States, Entergy Louisiana and Entergy New Orleans and takes advantage of modern technology in building databases, conducting training courses and networking information.

While Entergy has taken the initiative in developing and offering the many facets of Teamwork Louisiana, the program is a contribution toward a truly unified effort, involving community and parish leaders and economic development professionals at the local, regional and state level. The program objectives are simple--to create more and better jobs for Louisianians by helping Louisiana communities organize and plan for economic growth and progress, by achieving educational improvements at the local level and by enhancing the quality of life of the communities and people in the Louisiana parishes served by Entergy. Responsibility for implementing the various programs at the local level are assigned to Entergy Customer Service Managers, who will work in close cooperation with community leaders in setting the desired economic and community goals and then achieving them.

The key elements and objectives of Teamwork Louisiana are as follows:

• To assist communities in establishing a development strategy focused on the resources needed to support economic prosperity, such as leadership development, infrastructure development and the nurturing of existing and new local businesses.

• To provide local communities with educational support programs designed to discourage dropouts, recognize achievements in science, mathematics and technology, promote adult literacy and work force education, and generally improve the quality of education at all levels.

• To market available buildings and industrial sites to prospective industries.

• To provide support programs for minority business development.

• To provide research and technical support for other economic development professionals.

• To provide existing Louisiana industry with technical support, research and planning assistance.

• To provide assistance in developing export markets for Louisiana products.

• To encourage foreign investment in Louisiana.

• To help Louisiana firms obtain both government and private sector contracts.

• To promote the purchase of Louisiana products and services by Louisiana industry.

• To bring desirable new business and industry into the state.
